It’s October, so it shouldn’t surprise you to hear that another horror flick will likely top the box office this weekend. According to the experts, ‘Jigsaw‘ is expected to beat the George Clooney-directed dark comedy, Suburbicon.
Most experts believe the revival of the Saw franchise will bring home over $20 million this weekend, which should be enough to beat Suburbicon, which is expected to make around $7 million. Jigsaw will be released in over 2,800 theaters while Suburbicon will be released in just over 2,000.
Hollywood is probably celebrating the final weekend of October. It’s been an incredibly depressing month at the box office for most studios. The biggest surprise of the month was probably Happy Death Day, which has made over $55 million worldwide against a budget of just $4.8 million.
November should be a better month, though. Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 3, and it’s expected to have a huge opening weekend. You also have Roman J. Israel, Esq., Murder on the Orient Express, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Justice League, and Disney’s Coco.
The sun will come out tomorrow. But for now, we got a few more days of cloudiness in October.
