It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Jennifer Lawrence on the big screen, if you don’t count the X-Men sh*t. Her last film, Red Sparrow, was released back in early 2018.
2019 was a relaxed year for the 29-year-old actress, but now she’s set to make a big return in 2020. She has four different projects currently in production, and one of those projects is Adam McKay’s upcoming comedy, Don’t Look Up.
The film is set to premiere on Netflix later this year. The story follows to low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn the world of an approaching asteroid that could destroy the planet.
Principal photography will start in April, which suggests a pretty short filming period, considering they plan to release this before the end of the year. They move fast over there at Netflix.
McKay released a statement about landing Lawrence…
I’m so thrilled to make this movie with Jen Lawrence. She’s what folks in the 17th century used to call ‘a dynamite talent.’ And the fact that Netflix sees this movie as a worldwide comedy sets the bar high for me and my team in an exciting and motivating way.
No word on who will co-star, but we’ll keep you posted.
