Jason Bateman has had a long career in the entertainment industry, mainly as an actor, but here lately, he’s been focusing more on directing.
He has directed several episodes of ‘Ozark‘ as well as The Outsider. He even directed an episode of Arrested Development.
And now he’s hoping to direct the upcoming Netflix heist flick, Here Comes The Flood.
According to multiple reports, he’s in early talks with the streaming giant to direct the feature film, which the studio won in a stressful auction earlier this year.
Simon Kinberg penned spec, which is an elevated, character-driven love-story heist movie, with the heist playing out in increments. Kinberg and Audrey Chon, president of Genre Films, are producing and if a deal closes, Bateman is also expected to join as a producer.
It’s also possible Bateman stars in this film as well. Netflix has not commented on this report, likely because nothing has been signed.
This will mark Bateman’s third feature film as a director having previously helmed Bad Words and The Family Fang.
We’ll keep you posted on this project. We all love a good heist film.
