I’m not afraid to admit that I’m a huge fan of musicals. When I was a kid, I had an immediate, “Yuck! Musicals? I’m a boy. Throw me a football or gtfo!” reaction.
But after watching my first live musical several years ago, I fell in love. Ever since then, I’ve been attending them any chance I get.
A few years ago, I was lucky enough to watch the award-winning musical ‘Fun Home‘ which follows the story of cartoonist Alison Bechdel.
Fun Home chronicles Bechdel’s experience coming into her own as a lesbian and coping with the suicide of her closeted father.
According to a new report, Jake Gyllenhaal will be starring and producing in a movie adaptation of the musical. He will be playing the father, obviously.
It should be an interesting role for Gyllenhaal. The dude is such a talented actor and his range is wide. That’s one of my favorite things about him. He’s not afraid to take chances.
I mean, have you seen his cameo in John Mulaney’s musical special on Netflix?
