Last year, Wreck-It Ralph’s composer Henry Jackman revealed that Disney was trying to develop a sequel to the Oscar-nominated film. At the time, it was still in the early stages of development, and we all know how things can get off track.

But now it looks like a sequel will definitely happen. Actor John C. Reilly, the voice behind the main character in the movie, confirmed that he has signed on for Wreck-It Ralph 2. He made the announcement at the Galway Film Fleadh.

The Irish Independent was the first to break the exciting news. Sending out the tweet you see below…

Of course, this news shouldn’t surprise anyone. We know director Rich Moore was dying to make a sequel. Telling The Huffington Post back in 2013 that he had a wonderful time making the first one…

“I know everyone here had a good time making the film. I’ve talked with John [C. Reilly] and Sarah [Silverman] and we would all love to visit that world again and work with those characters again. We would jump at the opportunity. We’re all crossing our fingers about as far as you can cross them that we get a chance to do that.”

They can all give their fingers a break. It’s going to happen, and if it’s anything like the first one, it’s going to be a huge success. The first movie took home almost $500 million total at the box office.
