It’s Happening, ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ Has Official Release Date, Get The Details Inside!

We told you this was coming. A little over a month ago, we posted a story talking about a possible King Kong/Godzilla movie, and now we know for sure the epic battle will happen.

Warner Bros. and Legendary will be teaming up on a 2020 film titled, ‘Godzilla vs. Kong‘. The movie will follow 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, and 2018’s Godzilla 2. The huge announcement went down on Wednesday, where Legendary assured everyone their home is still at Universal Pictures. They’re simply teaming up with Warner Bros. to create this massive Kong/Godzilla universe.

Legendary CEO Thomas Tull had this to say…

“Audiences really responded to Godzilla. Today, I’m excited to reveal that film was only the beginning of an epic new entertainment universe. As a lifelong fan of these characters, I’ve always wanted to see the ultimate showdown, and today we’re pleased to be announcing that and more.”

We don’t know exactly when the film will be released in 2020, but we’re assuming it’s going to be in the summer. Godzilla 2 will be opening in June of 2018; however, Kong: Skull Island is currently scheduled for a release date in March of 2017.

Speaking of Skull Island, production is scheduled to begin next week. As most of you probably know, the cast they have put together for this movie is incredible. You have the two stars Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston. They will be receiving a little help from their friends: Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, and Toby Kebbell.
