‘Impractical Jokers’ Will Be Getting A Feature Film, Get The Details Inside

Are the Impractical Jokers jumping the shark? Possibly. In addition to being renewed for an eighth season on truTV, the comedy troupe also agreed to star in a feature film, which is being produced by Funny or Die and directed by Chris Henchy.

This movie is expected to enter production this spring, and it will tell the story of a humiliating high school mishap from 1992 that sends the “Impractical Jokers on the road competing in hidden camera challenges for the chance to turn back the clock and redeem three of the four.”

So, I’m still not sure what this movie is about. I’m assuming it’s not scripted, at least not fully. My guess is that it will be presented in a similar way as Johnny Knoxville’s Bad Grandpa film. And if they can capture that same magic, then maybe this has a shot of being a success.

We will be watching this closely. By the way, the season eight renewal for the show has a 26-episode count, which will keep the show on air through 2019. The show’s 200th episode will premiere in 2019, and we can only imagine what they have planned for that.
