It looks like the strangeness of 2016 is carrying over to 2017. The Golden Globes aired last night, and instead of focusing on the winners and losers, the world is focused on the battle between Donald Trump and Meryl Streep.
Streep accepted the Cecil B. DeMille award, which is their version of a lifetime achievement award, and instead of spending her time jerking off everyone in the room, she decided to focus on some important issues.
One of those issues being president-elect Donald Trump.
“There was one performance this year that stunned me. It sank its hooks in my heart. Not because it was good. There was nothing good about it. But it was effective, and it did its job. It made its intended audience laugh and show their teeth. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter. Someone he outranked in privilege, power and the capacity to fight back. It kind of broke my heart when I saw it.”
You can listen to her full speech by watching the video at the top of the page. It was designed well and had some of the celebs in the crowd in tears.
But Trump was not happy about it, and when he’s not happy about something, where does he go? Twitter, of course.
He called Streep one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood…
This is our president, folks. WE WANTED THIS!
