The HBO Films adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s classic novel Fahrenheit 451 has been in development for a while now. The dystopian novel, which was released in 1953, “depicts a future where media is an opiate, history is outlawed and ‘firemen’ burn books.”

Doesn’t sound too far off, huh?

This week, the studio announced that Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon will star in the movie. Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes) will direct the project. He also co-wrote the script with Amir Naderi.

There is a lot of talent behind this film. Both Jordan and Shannon are coming off great performances. You had Jordan’s breakout role in Creed, and then most recently you had Shannon give one heck of a performance in Nocturnal Animals. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2017 Oscars.

We will keep you updated on this project as more information is released. No word yet on a release date, but it’ll probably be in 2018/19. Jordan is currently busy filming Marvel’s Black Panther.
