Harvey Weinstein Sentenced To Over 20 Years In Prison

It looks like Harvey Weinstein will die in prison. As most of you know, the 67-year-old Hollywood big shot was convicted back on Feb. 24 of committing a Criminal Sexual Act in the first and third-degree rape.

On Wednesday morning, the judge working the case sentenced him to 20 years in prison plus five years of supervised release.

The max sentence was close to 30 years, so the judge could have been even harsher with the sentencing. Although, it likely doesn’t matter if it’s 20 or 30 years, with Weinstein’s poor health, it’s looking like he will die in prison.

Weinstein’s lawyers begged for mercy earlier this week, asking the judge to¬†sentence him to 5 years¬†because — among other things — he has no prior criminal record, and his life and career had already been destroyed.

His legal team also pointed to huge charitable contributions, including millions for 9/11 firefighters and police officers.

Of course, making charitable contributions doesn’t mean you’re not a rapist. It simply means you have a lot of money.

Weinstein is also still facing charges in Los Angeles as well, so yeah, the future does not look good. His money and power in Hollywood protected him for decades, but not anymore.
