Is it the perfect time for this film? Or the worst time? It’s hard to tell. I Love You, Daddy, the black-and-white comedy/drama directed by Louis C.K., follows a famed TV writer (Louis C.K.) and his teenager daughter played by Chloe Grace Moretz. His daughter develops an odd relationship with a legendary director who is known for dating much younger women.
Entertainment Weekly explains:
“The film made waves when it debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival for its not-so-subtle allusions to controversial filmmaker Woody Allen, as well as C.K.’s own commentary on sexual assault, feminism, and provocative language.”
It’s a film that looks like a Woody Allen production, but also could be a commentary on the controversy surrounding Allen. As some of you may know, Allen has been accused of molesting his daughter Dylan Farrow when she was 7-years-old.
I Love You, Daddy is set to be released inside a limited amount of theaters on November 17, 2017, before being released everywhere in December.
