When Hollywood isn’t busy making sequels to comic book films, they spend their time checking CNN to see which tragic event they can make a quick buck on. Typically, they’ll wait at least five years before they release the project, but with the Boston Marathon Bombing?
They couldn’t wait. It’s been a little over three years since the disturbing attack on Boston. The wounds are still fresh, but don’t you worry…Mark Wahlberg is here to save the day! The same Mark Wahlberg that was charged with attempted murder after he attacked a dude with a wooden stick and called him a “Vietnam f–king sh-t.”
But we don’t talk about that now.
Patriots Day will be hitting select theaters on Christmas, so make sure you drag your entire family to watch this masterpiece. It opens in all theaters Jan. 13.
In addition to Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman and J.K. Simmons will co-star in the movie. That is a pretty talented cast, and might be the only reason to give this movie a shot.
You can check out the official synopsis and trailer below…
“In the aftermath of an unspeakable attack, Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders joins courageous survivors, first responders and investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the bombers before they strike again. Weaving together the stories of Special Agent Richard DesLauriers, Police Commissioner Ed Davis, Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese and nurse Carol Saunders, this visceral and unflinching chronicle captures the suspense of one of the most sophisticated manhunts in law enforcement history and celebrates the strength of the people of Boston.”
