For months, people have been talking about the reported Charles Manson movie from Quentin Tarantino. According to multiple sources, the director’s ninth feature film was supposedly going to focus on the Manson murders.
But now, thanks to the plot details being released, we know the Manson murders won’t be the focus. Instead, they will act as a backdrop to the main story.
“Set in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969, Tarantino’s upcoming movie, according to a source who read the script, focuses on a male TV actor who’s had one hit series and his looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick—who’s also his stunt double—is looking for the same thing. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate and four of her friends by Charles Manson’s cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story.”
Margot Robbie is being considered for the role of Sharon Tate, and there are multiple actors being considered for the two male leads: Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Brad Pitt. You know, all the usual suspects.
It’ll be fun to watch this movie develop. One thing we know for sure, Tarantino will probably welcome filming in the Los Angeles area after shooting in the freezing cold for The Hateful Eight.
