We Finally Have Some Casting News Surrounding ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ Remake

It has been over a year since we’ve heard any fresh news about Warner Bros’ rumored Little Shop of Horrors remake. The last bit of news released revealed Greg Berlanti (showrunner on Riverdale) was directing the project and Matthew Robinson wrote the script.

At the time, we didn’t know if it would be a remake of the 1960 sci-fi campy film, or the 1986 musical version directed by Frank Oz. But thanks to this bit of casting news just released, we know it’s going to be another musical.

According to multiple reports, the studio is in talks with Rebel Wilson and Josh Gad. Both stars can (and have) performed musical numbers in films, which is why it’s obvious this remake will be a musical.

This news might disappoint fans of the original film directed by Roger Corman, but you had to know it was going in this direction. The studio is going to go where the money is, and musicals are hot right now.

We should note that neither Gad nor Wilson have signed a contract. A lot can change, so don’t get excited (or disappointed) just yet. We’ll keep you posted as more information is released.
