After pulling in over $549 million worldwide with the original film, Seth MacFarlane is ready to bring back his foul-mouthed teddy bear. Returning to the sequel is Ted’s best friend for life, John, played wonderfully by Mark Wahlberg.
Ted 2 will focus on proving that the naughty teddy bear actually has a soul. You see, he and his new bride, Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) want to start a family together. But before they are allowed to adopt some poor child, Ted will have to prove he’s human enough to become an adoptive parent.
Morgan Freeman joins the cast as a civil rights lawyer, and Amanda Seyfried will play Ted’s legal representative, Samantha Jackson.
I won’t be making any box office predictions for this film (opening June 26th, 2015) but I am confident in saying two things.
- People who liked the first film will love this sequel.
- People who didn’t like the first film will hate this sequel.
I know, I know. I am really going out on a limb with that prediction. What can I say? It’s Friday. I am feeling a little dangerous. I might put two servings of chocolate syrup inside my milk this morning. That’s one more than they recommend.
