Vin Diesel always talks about how much he values family, and it looks like he’s backing up that claim.
Universal Studios and the rest of the ‘Fast & Furious‘ team has decided to push back the release of ‘Fast 9‘ to April 2, 2021. That’s right, it’s being pushed back nearly a year.
The movie was set to be released May 22, 2020, but due to the coronavirus, that release date won’t be possible. You see, the Fast & Furious franchise is global. It makes money all over the world, and with theaters closed in Italy, South Korea, and even China still, it would be a horrible idea to go ahead with the release.
And yeah, they could have simply pushed it back a few months (like some other films have done) but with a movie as big as this, you want to be sure.
So I don’t fault their thinking. Just go ahead and push it back until next year and focus on other things right now. People will still love fast cars and Vin Diesel’s tank-tops one year from now.
Thanks for caring about family, Universal. I mean, we know it’s really about money, but still…thanks.[mashshare]
