Ethan Hawke is one of my favorite actors, and since I care about him, you should as well. The 47-year-old actor is in the prime of his career, and his next project will be a big one.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Hawke is set to play electricity pioneer Nikola Tesla. The film, which is simply titled Tesla, is currently in development and it’s being introduced to buyers by Millennium Media at the European Film Market.
“The biopic, being produced by Passage Pictures and Campbell Grobman Films, will chronicle the life and times of the famed Serbia-born inventor, including his creation of the AC motor and his fierce rivalry with Thomas Edison.”
Not much else is known about the project at this time, but we will keep you posted. Hopefully this film has award potential. I know awards don’t mean much, but it would be nice to see Hawke land an Oscar. He’s been nominated for four Oscars for his work in Boyhood, Before Midnight, Before Sunset and Training Day.[mashshare]
