The next Star Wars film, Rise of Skywalker, is set to hit theaters December 20, and it’s expected to make a lot of money.

According to the early tracking reports, the film could make up to $200 million during its opening weekend in the states, although some people believe that number is low.

After all Star Wars: The Force Awakens made $247 million in its opening weekend in 2015 and Star Wars: The Last Jedi made $220 million, so one would assume this installment would also cross the $200 million mark.

It’s the final chapter in this current series, so you know people are going to be interested. It might not touch the $247 million opening by Force Awakens, but it should get close to The Last Jedi’s total.

By the way, it basically has no chance of breaking the record for the biggest domestic opening weekend.

Avengers: Endgame has a solid hold on that with its insane $357 million opening weekend earlier this year.
