How many of you old school players out there remember the Rampage arcade game? It was one of my favorites, but while playing it, I never thought, “Wow. This would be a great movie!”
But apparently someone did, because they have made an action-adventure film inspired by the 1980s video game, where players take control of gigantic monsters and work to completely destroy every building in a particular city.
Warner Bros. released the first trailer for Rampage, which stars Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Collider explains a little more about the movie…
“Rampage stars Johnson as a primatologist who shares a close bond with George, a remarkably intelligent silverback gorilla, until a rogue genetic experiment transforms the ape into a gigantic, raging monster. Worse yet, there are even more of these genetically altered predators on the lose (including a 30-foot wolf), tearing across the continent, and Davis puts himself in the thick of the battle not only to save the day, but save the killer beast that used to be his best friend.”
Well, all right then. Sure…why not? Watch the trailer below. It’s scheduled to hit theaters April 20, 2018.
