We thought the cluster of records set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be safe for at least a year, but Disney’s live-action reimagining of Beauty and the Beast has jumped in the race to say, “Hey, we’re stronger than the force. We are the force.”

The teaser trailer for the film dropped earlier this week, and it was watched 91.8 million times in the first 24 hours of its release, which easily breaks the previous record set by the second teaser for The Force Awakens. It had 88 million views in 24 hours.

It has been fascinating to watch the progression of this movie. When Disney first announced they were making a live-action retelling of another classic film, the internet was understandably a little skeptical. But then they revealed Emma Watson would be starring as Belle, and people were like, “Hm, okay. This could be good.

And now after seeing the first teaser, excitement continues to increase. Best part about it? The film doesn’t hit theaters until March 17, 2017. Disney still has almost a full year to tease fans.
