If you thought live-action remakes were beginning to die down, well, you better think again. The remakes have made Disney too much damn money to stop now.
The next live-action remake? Bambi. According to multiple reports, Disney is developing a “lifelike” remake of its 1942 animated Bambi film.
The film will employ the same photo-realistic CGI used on Disney’s remakes of ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘The Lion King’ to tell the story of the titular fawn who befriends a rabbit and skunk before coping with the death of his mother at the hands of a hunter.
‘Captain Marvel‘ screenwriter Geneva Robertson-Dworet will co-write the script with Lindsey Beer.
No word on a potential release date, but they are working on it, and we know they like to move fast. Or at least as fast as possible with these remakes. Obviously, it takes a little more time since the filming is a bit complicated with the CGI technology.
We’ll keep you posted as more information is released.[mashshare]
