Remember the 2014 horror/thriller ‘It Follows,‘? Of course you do. The film was a surprise hit and was one of the best movies of 2014. It was incredibly unique and bizarre in the most perfect way. The film received an impressive 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for several awards.
The director of the movie, David Robert Mitchell, hasn’t released a film since It Follows, but that’s about to change. The wonderful film company A24 announced this week that Mitchell’s latest movie, Under the Silver Lake, will debut in select theaters in Los Angeles and New York on June 22. It’ll be released nationwide a few weeks later.
Andrew Garfield, Riley Keough, and Topher Grace star in the movie, which is described as a modern-day noir crime thriller set in Los Angeles.
“The film centers on a man who becomes obsessed with the strange circumstances of a billionaire mogul’s murder and the kidnapping of a girl.”
Well, I’m down. You got A24, Mitchell and Garfield…working together to create a crime thriller? I think it’s safe to say I’m going to enjoy this movie.
