What do you get when you combine Denzel Washington, Frances McDormand, Joel Coen and Shakespeare? Well, you get a masterpiece…hopefully.
Denzel and Frances, both Oscar winners, are reportedly deep in talks to star in Joel Coen’s adaptation of Macbeth. Coen will reportedly direct the project from his own original script.
Good ol’ A24 will distribute the project, which is scheduled to start shooting before the end of the year, which means it’ll likely be released sometime in 2020.
The iconic Shakespeare tale follows a lord (Washington) who’s convinced by a trio of witches that he’s destined to become the king of Scotland. With the help of his ambitious wife (McDormand), Macbeth tries to seize the crown by any means necessary.
Washington is going to have a very busy year. He’s set to film the thriller ‘Little Things’ this fall, then Macbeth, and then he’s set to direct the film ‘Journal for Jordan‘ starring Michael B. Jordan.
Denzel trying to get another Oscar. WE SEE YOU!
