We have some bad news for James Bond fans who were hoping Daniel Craig would stay with the franchise for the rest of his career. The 47-year-old actor made it clear in a recent interview that he wants to move on. He’s ready to try something new.
While speaking with Time Out London, Craig admitted he would rather kill himself than star in another James Bond movie.
“I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”
Honestly, you expect to hear that strong of a response right after someone finishes a project they’ve been working on for years. Heck, go wait for someone to leave their job at the office, and ask them if they’re looking forward to going back in tomorrow morning. They will probably murder you.
Craig added that money would be the only reason he would star in another James Bond film. And we all know doing something solely for money doesn’t always get you the best results.
He was also asked if he cared about who might replace him…
“Look, I don’t give a f–k. Good luck to them! All I care about is that if I stop doing these things we’ve left it in a good place and people pick it up and make it better. Make it better, that’s all.”
Even though he doesn’t care who replaces him, he was nice enough to share some advice, saying, “Don’t be s–t. You’ve got to step up. People do not make movies like this any more. This is really rare now. So, don’t be s–t.”
That’s all? Don’t be sh-t? Sounds simple enough. Maybe I could be the next James Bond…
