Cole Sprouse And Kathryn Newton Set To Co-Star In Diablo Cody-Scripted Film ‘Lisa Frankenstein’

Diablo Cody is perhaps one of the better known screenwriters, thanks in large part to the 2007 film ‘Juno’ which actually won her an Oscar for best original screenplay.

Since then, she’s gone on to write a number of films, including Jennifer’s Body, Young Adult and Tully. And now, she’s ready for her next script to come alive.

According to multiple reports, Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton will star in Cody’s upcoming film, Lisa Frankenstein.

Set in 1989, the film follows an unpopular high schooler who accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams using the broken tanning bed in her garage.

Sounds entertaining enough, and perhaps a little different than Cody’s typical work, so it should be interesting.

Zelda Williams is directing the film, and it will be her feature directorial debut. The movie is described as a “bonkers” horror comedy.

Filming is expected to begin later this summer, which means the movie will likely get a release sometime in 2023, or it might go the festival route, which could push back a release.

We’ll keep you posted.
