There are several live-action remakes coming our way. It’s hard to figure out which ones you should be excited about, because we all know too much of anything can be dangerous. One of these remakes will fail, but it probably won’t be The Little Mermaid.
The talented Chloe Grace Moretz will star in the upcoming film, and she believes this version of the classic tale will appeal to the young women of today, “a modern, revisionist tale is kind of what we’re going after, and making it progressive for young women in this day and age.” She told Entertainment Tonight.
She also explained that this film will be based more on the original story published back in 1837 as opposed to Disney’s take on it in 1989.
While talking with E! News, the actress admitted to being a little nervous, but also revealed she was “excited to show something that I’ve loved for such a long time and in a different modern light.”
But before filming begins, Moretz will start training underwater next month…
“I’m going to start training underwater in about a month, so we’ll see how I am on that.”
No release date has been announced; however, we have to imagine that will change soon with training and filming starting after the holidays. We’ll keep you posted.
