You probably remember reading the children’s book series ‘Clifford the Big Red Dog‘ as a kid. For some reason, the covers always stood out to me at the library. I always wanted to read them.
The book series was such a hit that it developed into a TV series on PBS Kids, which aired from 2000 to 2003. It aired over 60 episodes.
And now, the Big Red Dog is ready to make a comeback. A Clifford the Big Red Dog feature film will be coming to theaters next year on November 5, 2021.
Clifford the Big Red Dog will follow the famous pooch from puppyhood – when middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth adopts the normal-sized pup and brings him back to her New York City apartment – all the way through his massive growth spurt, which causes Emily and her giant companion to go on a Big Apple adventure together.
The teaser below is not much of anything, but it does show you just how big Clifford is compared to all those normal doggies out there.
His appearance is quite shocking. Honestly. I’m not digging it. Some people are hoping this is another ‘Sonic’ situation where the animators go back and fix him up.
We’ll see what happens.
