Are you a fan of District 9? Do you like robots? What about mullets, are you big fan of the classic hairstyle? If so, then we have the perfect film for you. Director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) has been working hard on his latest film, Chappie. In the unique film, Sharlto Copley plays Chappie, a child-like robot who only advances to about nine years in his emotional development.
Hugh Jackman will be rocking a mullet in the film and will also be playing the villain. His character wants to demolish this robot, “The problem with Artificial Intelligence is it’s way too unpredictable,” he can be heard saying in the first official trailer down below.
The film also stars Dev Patel, Sigourney Weaver and Jose Pablo Cantillo. It’s expected to hit theaters March 6, 2015. It certainly looks like it will be worth a $12 movie ticket. Check out the official synopsis and trailer down below.
“Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy. Like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings – some good, some bad – and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man. But there’s one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot. The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, will change the way the world looks at robots and humans forever.”
