‘It,‘ The Stephen King adaptation was released in 2017 and made over $700 million at the box office. It scored great reviews from critics, and was surprisingly just as hilarious as it was scary. It was one of the most entertaining movies of the year.
And now we are learning that the sequel, ‘It: Chapter 2‘ will begin filming this July in Toronto. Producer Roy Lee confirmed the news via email, “The script is still being finalized and the locations are currently being scouted in anticipation of shooting then,” he wrote.
Director Andrés Muschietti will return for this sequel, which features a 27-year time jump. The kids will be all grown up now, and earlier this year, we heard rumors that Jessica Chastain would be playing the grown up version of Beverly Marsh. We haven’t heard much about those rumors lately, so we don’t know if a deal is in place or not.
But with filming starting in July, we have to imagine casting news will be coming soon. We do know that Bill Skarsgard will return to play Pennywise, because who else is going to pull that sh*t off?
We will keep you posted as more details are released. The film is expected to hit theaters September 6, 2019.[mashshare]
