The New Trailer For Disney’s Artemis Fowl Is Here, And Some Book Fans Are Angry

Disney just released a new trailer for ‘Artemis Fowl’ which is based on the popular fantasy novel series. Admittedly, I have not read the books, but according to reports, the novels portray the 12-year-old protagonist as a bit of a supervillain. A criminal mastermind.

But it looks like (at least from this trailer) that Disney is turning the main character into more of a hero.

Check out this one take from slashfilm

Now Artemis Fowl, rather than being the antihero arc all us book readers know and love it to be, is…a lame superhero movie? His fairy foes (Holly and Mulch) are now his allies for some reason, and Butler is his mentor who trains him to be a defender of fairies? It looks cheesy and bad, and no, you can’t even win us over with a surprise Colin Farrell cameo as Artemis’ dad. I can’t begin to describe my disappointment with this trailer

Not a good look for Disney. It makes you wonder what exactly they’re thinking when it comes to adaptations like this. If you want to create some superhero fantasy film, simply create an original tale. You have the power.

Why take some preexisting property and completely change it? It’s just going to piss off the fanbase you’re trying to connect with.

Artemis Fowl will hit theaters May 29, 2020. Check out the trailer below…

Watch The Creepy First Trailer For ‘Candyman’ Produced/Co-Written By Jordan Peele

The self described “spiritual” sequel to the 1992 horror film ‘Candyman‘ just released its first trailer this week.

This spiritual sequel of the same name finds the story coming back to the now-gentrified Chicago neighborhood where the legend began.

Rising filmmaker Nia DaCosta directed this film, which was co-written by Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld.

The trailer teaser released on Tuesday previewed some of the characters we’d be crossing paths with over the course of the film played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen), Teyonah Parris (Chi-Raq), Colman Domingo (Euphoria), and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Dracula). Most intriguing of all, Cassie Kramer (Chicago P.D.) will play the same character Madsen played in the first Candyman and Todd will be returning to the franchise.

The horror flick is expected to hit theaters June 12, 2020. Check out the trailer below…

Check Out First Poster/Trailer For Paramount Animation’s ‘Rumble’ Flick

We all love a good underdog story, right? Well, Paramount Pictures is promising “the biggest underdog story ever” with its upcoming animated film, Rumble.

The movie features a world where monster wrestling is a global sport and monsters are superstar athletes. A teenage girl named Winnie has high hopes of following in her father’s footsteps by coaching a lovable underdog monster.

The voice cast is pretty impressive, including Will Arnett, Terry Crews, Tony Danza, Becky Lynch, Ben Schwartz and even Stephen A. Smith.

You’ll have to wait a bit for this movie, though. It’s not expected to hit theaters until January 2021. Not sure why they’re releasing a trailer so far in advance, but here we are.

Watch The First Trailer For Love Triangle Film ‘Endings, Beginnings’ Starring Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley, Sebastian Stan and Jamie Dornan all star in this steamy love triangle flick, ‘Endings, Beginnings‘ from director Drake Doremus.

According to the synopsis, Woodley stars as a woman attempting to get her life back on track, but ends up getting involved in a love triangle with bad boy (Stan) and his best friend (Dornan)

At its Toronto premiere, the festival praised Doremus’ stylistic flourishes, describing the film as ‘a smart, very contemporary character study of a woman exploring who she is, what she could be, and how her choices impact those around her.’

But the critics did not enjoy it. The film has a pretty terrible 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Still though, if you’re looking for a sexy little film to watch with your lover, maybe this is it. Dornan appears to have found his niche, huh? After years of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Check out the trailer below. It’s set to be released May 1, 2020.

Check Out Sarah Paulson In First Trailer For Psychological Thriller ‘Run’

Remember the surprise 2018 hit thriller film ‘Searching‘? The movie was made on a budget of less than $1 million and ended up making over $70 million at the box office.

The director behind the film, Aneesh Chaganty, and his writing partner Sev Ohanian, are ready to surprise the box office again.

Their latest project, Run, is described as a psychological thriller starring the great Sarah Paulson.

Paulson playing an intense and overbearing mother and newcomer Kiera Allen as her teenaged daughter, who’s raised in isolation and soon discovers that her relationship with mommy dearest is more sinister than it appears.

What’s interesting about this project is that it’ll be Allen’s first time acting in a feature. The actress and her character use a wheelchair to get around. According to the reports, this is the first studio film to ever star a wheelchair user.

Allen spoke about this in a recent interview…

To see a character in a wheelchair who is, not to give too much away, but who is really kind of a hero and is her own person, and has her own mind and her own journey independent of her disability, and to see a character whose journey is really not defined by her disability; it’s defined by who she is as a person is a really cool thing because I’m an actor, I’m a person first. I don’t come in to play a disability, I come in to play a person, and to have that opportunity is really cool.

We’re all about that. Hopefully this is the start of something new in Hollywood. Check out the trailer for ‘Run’ below. It’s set to hit theaters May 8, 2020.

Check Out The First Trailer For Wes Anderson’s ‘The French Dispatch’

Yesterday we showed you the first poster for ‘The French Dispatch‘ and now we’re showing you the first trailer.

The Wes Anderson flick stars Timothee Chalamet, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton and many more.

This is Anderson’s first live-action film since the release of The Grand Budapest Hotel back in 2014. That movie won multiple awards, including Academy Awards for Best Score, and Costume Design.

The official synopsis for The French Dispatch reads:

The film is a love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th Century French city and brings to life a collection of stories published in ‘The French Dispatch’ magazine

And much like with most Wes Anderson films, you don’t need to see his name in the credits to know he made it. You just know.

Check out the trailer below. It’ll hit theaters on July 24, 2020.

Check Out Javier Bardem And Elle Fanning In New Trailer For ‘The Roads Not Taken’

Filmmaker Sally Potter, responsible for many films throughout her long career in the film industry, is nearly ready to release her next project, The Roads Not Taken.

The British-American drama stars Javier Bardem, Elle Fanning, Salma Hayek and Laura Linney.

The official synopsis reads:

[The film] follows a day in the life of Leo (Javier Bardem) and his daughter, Molly (Elle Fanning) as she grapples with the challenges of her father’s chaotic mind. As they weave their way through New York City, Leo’s journey takes on a hallucinatory quality as he floats through alternate lives he could have lived, leading Molly to wrestle with her own path as she considers her future.

Sounds pretty trippy. I’m intrigued. The movie, which had its international distribution rights purchased by Focus Features, is set to hit theaters March 13, 2020.

Check Out The First Trailer For Chris Rock’s Take On The Saw Franchise, ‘Spiral’

We told you a long time ago that Chris Rock had pitched the original ‘Saw‘ producers on an idea for a reboot. They loved it, and now here we are.

This reboot, which the studio is billing as coming from “the book of saw” is titled Spiral. It stars Rock, Samuel L. Jackson and Max Minghella.

The official synopsis reads…

A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in ‘Spiral,’ the terrifying new chapter from the book of ‘Saw.’ Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Jackson), brash detective Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Banks (Rock) and his rookie partner (Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

This will be the ninth installment in the ‘Saw’ franchise. In total, the franchise has earned nearly $1 billion at the box office. This film will push them over the edge.

New James Bond Flick ‘No Time to Die’ Releases Super Bowl Trailer

Even if you’re not a fan of football, the Super Bowl might be an exciting event for you because studios will usually release a couple high profile trailers during the commercials.

One of the big trailers released last night was for the 25th James Bond film, No Time to Die.

The TV spot promised the audience at home that this film will “change everything” whatever the hell that means.

This will allegedly be Daniel Craig’s final performance as Bond, so you better soak up his performance. He’ll be joined on screen by Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch and Ana de Armas.

No Time to Die is set to hit theaters April 10, 2020. Check out the trailer below…
