Watch The First Trailer For Kevin Smith’s ‘Clerks 3’

We told you earlier this week that a trailer for ‘Clerks III’ would be dropping this week, and surprise surprise, we weren’t lying!

The first trailer for the third installment in the cult classic film series has dropped. Writer-director Kevin Smith released the trailer on his social media accounts. He had been hyping it up for the past several days.

Clerks III is set to follow Randal, played by Jeff Anderson, after he suffers a life-threatening heart attack. With the help of Dante, Elias, Becky, Jay and Silent Bob, Randal sets out to make a movie about the convenience store that started it all.

As most of you know, Kevin Smith himself suffered a massive heart attack back in February of 2018, so he’s clearly tapping into some personal trauma for this movie.

Clerks III will find most of the original cast returning, including Jeff Anderson, Brian O’Halloran, Jason Mewes and Rosario Dawson.

The original ‘Clerks’ film hit theaters nearly 30 years ago. The second film was released in 2006.

Clerks III is set to hit a theater near you on September 13, 2022. Check out the trailer below…

Julia Roberts And George Clooney Star In First Trailer For Rom-Com ‘Ticket to Paradise’

We told you earlier this year that Julia Roberts was making her return to the rom-com genre with the upcoming film, Ticket to Paradise.

And now, we finally have proof! Universal released the first trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy, in which Roberts co-stars alongside George Clooney.

They star as two long-divorced parents who impulsively married each other. When their daughter Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) heads on a post-graduation trip to Bali and decides to marry a local, the two fly out to Indonesia to talk her out of making the same mistake they once did.

Sounds like a fairly standard plot for a rom-com, but we’re sure Clooney and Roberts will make it special just by being freaking George Clooney and Julia Roberts.

Ol Parker directed the movie, from a script he co-wrote with Daniel Pipski. Both Roberts and Clooney will serve as producers as well, which is pretty standard when you’re as beloved as them in Hollywood.

Ticket to Paradise will hit theaters on October 21, 2022, which is a little surprising, considering Halloween time is not typically thought of as “rom-com” time inside theaters.

Watch Sam Rockwell And Saoirse Ronan In Official Trailer For Murder Mystery ‘See How They Run’

Searchlight Pictures has surprised fans today by dropping the first official trailer for the upcoming murder mystery film, See How They Run.

The movie, which is set in the 1950s, stars Sam Rockwell as the “world-weary” Inspector Stoppard, and Saoirse Ronan as the eager rookie Constable Stalker.

The pair team up to solve a murder most foul in London’s West End theater district during the 1950s, investigating the seedy underbelly of England’s glamorous of artists and turning over a litany of brash, creative suspects.

The ensemble cast also includes David Oyelowo, Adrien Brody, and Ruth Wilson. Tom George directed this flick, he previously directed all 19 episodes of the British sitcom, This Country.

In a statement last summer, he talked about how thrilled he was to work with this impressive cast.

[Working with] this incredible cast has been a total dream. I’m so excited to bring this thrilling, smart, funny murder mystery to audiences. Doing so with the company behind such brilliant ensemble films as ‘Jojo Rabbit,’ ‘Birdman’ and ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ has really been the perfect fit.

See How They Run will run into theaters starting September 30, 2022. Check out the trailer below…

Watch The First Official Trailer For ‘Hocus Pocus 2’

The witches are back! The troublesome trio of Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy have returned for the upcoming sequel, Hocus Pocus 2.

Disney is bringing back the beloved Sanderson sisters one more time.

It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.

The movie will debut on Disney+ on September 30, just in time to get you ready for the Halloween season.

This sequel will co-star Sam Richardson, Doug Jones, Tony Hale and Hannah Waddingham. Hale apparently plays two characters in the movie.

And recently, he talked about how fun filming was:

Another surreal experience. That movie is a Halloween classic, and meeting Bette, and Sarah Jessica and Kathy Najimy, who was on ‘Veep’ with me… it was really fun.

The First Trailer For Ron Howard’s ‘Thirteen Lives’ Has Dropped, Thai Cave Rescue Drama

Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer for the upcoming drama/thriller, Thirteen Lives, from director Ron Howard.

The film is based on the events from the 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue.

In June and July 2018, the members of a junior football team were trapped for 18 days in Thailand’s Tham Luang Nang Non cave, after heavy rainfall flooded the cave system and blocked their way out. As the team – who ranged in age from 11-16 years old – and their coach remained trapped for weeks, the situation attracted global interest and an international rescue team was assembled to locate them.

This upcoming film will chronicle the events of the rescue and focus on the efforts of the divers who worked to save the team members.

Colin Farrell and Viggo Mortensen lead the cast. They’ll be starring as Rick Stanton and John Volanthen, the British cave divers who volunteered their expertise to help find the team members. Joel Edgerton and  Sahajak ‘Poo’ Boonthanakit also star.

This flick was originally set with MGM, and was set for a release date in November, but now that it’s with Amazon, it’s scheduled to have a limited run in theaters starting on July 29, before a release on Prime Video on August 5.

Watch The First Trailer For ‘The Most Dangerous Game’ Starring Bruce Dern And Tom Berenger

Back in 1932, a little film titled ‘The Most Dangerous Game‘ was released. It was an adaptation of the 1924 short story of the same name by Richard Connell. The plot centering around a big game hunter who deliberately strands a group of luxury yacht passengers on a remote island, so he can hunt them for sport.

Sounds interesting, yeah? Well, the classic film was just remade by director/writer Justin Lee, who has directed a plethora of action/thriller flicks.

This remake stars Bruce Dern, Tom Berenger, Chris “CT” Tamburello and Judd Nelson.

The original ‘man hunting man’ story gets a twist as father and son are washed ashore after their steamership explodes. The men find refuge on a mysterious island where their nefarious host, Baron Von Wolf, reveals to them that the island is his game preserve where human beings serve as the ultimate hunt.

This film was shot in the Pacific Northwest and is expected to have an initial release inside select theaters on August 5, 2022.

Watch The First Trailer For Lena Dunham-Directed Movie ‘Sharp Stick’

Lena Dunham, perhaps best known for starring/creating the hit HBO series ‘Girls’, is ready to take another feature directing gig. She made her directorial feature debut back in 2010 with ‘Tiny Furniture‘ which opened a lot of doors for her in Hollywood.

Now she has returned in the upcoming body-positive dark comedy, Sharp Stick.

The film centers on Sarah Jo (Kristine Froseth), a naive 26-year-old living on the fringes of Hollywood with her mother Marilyn (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and sister Treina (Taylour Paige), who longs to be seen. When she begins an affair with her older employer Josh (Jon Bernthal), she is thrust into an education on sexuality, loss and power.

It was a smart move making Jon Bernthal the older employer because girls are in love with this dude.

Sharp Stick is expected to hit theaters in Los Angeles and New York on July 29, before expanding nationwide on August 5.

So far, critics have given the film mixed reviews. While some have praised the flick, others claim Lena’s Sharp Shitck has gotten old.

Watch Good Ol’ Winona Ryder In First Trailer For Horror Film ‘Gone in the Night’

Do you want to take a ride on the Winona Ryder train? Hop in, ’cause we’re headed straight to horror town!

The ‘Stranger Things‘ actress is set to star in the upcoming horror film, Gone in the Night, which was previously titled The Cow.

Vertical will release the film in select theaters on July 15, followed by a VOD release on August 2.

Upon arriving at a remote cabin in the redwoods, Kath (Ryder) and her boyfriend (Gallagher Jr., 38) find a mysterious young couple (Teague, 23, and Tju, 24) already there — the rental has apparently been double-booked. And with nowhere else to go, they decide to share the cabin with these strangers. When her boyfriend disappears with the young woman, Kath becomes obsessed with finding an explanation for their sudden breakup.

Honestly, that sounds like an intriguing premise. Certainly good enough to order up on a boring Saturday night to enjoy over a slice of pizza.

In addition to Ryder, this movie will star John Gallagher Jr., Owen Teague, Dermot Mulroney and Brianne Tju.

Gone in the Night was directed by Eli Horowitz, who also co-wrote the script alongside Matthew Derby. For those who don’t know, Horowitz is the co-creator of the Amazon Prime series, Homecoming.

Watch Teaser Trailer For ‘Not Okay’ Starring Dylan O’Brien And Zoey Deutch

Hulu surprised fans this week by dropping the first teaser trailer for Searchlight Pictures’ satire comedy film, Not Okay. The movie star Dylan O’Brien and Zoey Deutch.

It was written/directed by Quinn Shephard, who previously worked as an actress before making her directorial debut in 2017.

‘Not Okay’ follows Danni Sanders (Deutch), an aspiring writer going through a period of arrested development. When Danni decides to fake a trip to Paris in an attempt to gain Instagram clout, she winds up in the middle of a huge lie that casts her as a public hero. Along the way, she meets school shooting survivor and activist Rowan (Mia Isaac, ‘Don’t Make Me Go’) and connects with her dream guy, Colin (O’Brien). Danni also gains a growing audience of followers, but life as an influencer turns out to be more complicated than she may have imagined.

Sounds a little complicated, but with the potential to be hilarious. Sometimes these satirical films can come across as a little out of touch or corny, but this seems to have a young filmmaking crew behind it, which should help fight against that.

Not Okay is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Hulu on July 29, 2022. Check out the trailer below…

The Early Reviews For Horror Flick ‘The Black Phone’ Are Pretty Positive

If you’re a horror fan, chances are you’ve seen the trailer for the Ethan Hawke-starring film, The Black Phone.

The trailer looks pretty damn creepy, and the hype for this movie has been building ever since it was delayed due to COVID-19. Well, the movie is finally hitting theaters this weekend, which means the early reviews are being released this week.

And so far, they’re pretty dang positive. It currently sits at an impressive 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with nearly 30 reviews counted. It has a 68 on Metacritic, but only eight reviews have been counted.

The Hollywood Reporter’s John DeFore wrote:

The Black Phone expands on a short story in ways that feel very true to the source material while significantly enhancing its theatrical appeal. It was never in doubt that this would be a more commercial outing than the deeply odd (but effective, in its way) 2013 adaptation Horns, but the picture also dovetails nicely with the current vogue for retro-set genre fare, lightly scratching a nostalgic itch.

And Bloody Disgusting’s Meagan Navarro had this to say in her review:

Derrickson and Cargill revive the same traits and structure of Sinister to transform Joe Hill’s short into a feature-length nightmare full of ghostly kids, violence, scares, and a trio of unforgettable performances.

It should be a pretty entertaining and creepy ride. The Black Phone will hit theaters this weekend. Check out the trailer below…
