The First Image Of Ryan Gosling As Ken In Upcoming ‘Barbie’ Movie Has Been Released

If you somehow missed the news, Ryan Gosling is starring in Greta Gerwig’s take on the ‘Barbie‘ toy franchise. He will be playing Ken, obviously.

And the studio was nice enough to release the first look of him as the iconic doll. Warner Bros released the photo on their Twitter account…

He certainly looks Kenish. Gosling is universally liked by women, and while a lot of that comes from his body/face, he also has a charming personality. We’re not sure how much of that will be on display as Ken. I’ve always thought of Ken as super dull, so it’ll be interesting to see Greta’s take.

Gerwig co-wrote the ‘Barbie’ script with her partner and ‘Frances Ha’ collaborator Noah Baumbach. Production on the film is currently underway.

Margot Robbie stars as the titular character in the film. In addition to Gosling and Robbie, the movie will star Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, Emma Mackey, America Ferrera and Simu Liu.

‘Barbie’ will hit theaters July 21, 2023.

Check Out Harry Styles In The First Images From Upcoming Drama Romance ‘My Policeman’

Everyone is looking forward to Harry Styles’ performance in Olivia Wilde’s feature film, Don’t Worry Darling, which is set to be released in September of this year.

But it won’t be the only Harry-starring film of the year. You can also catch the former boy band member in the upcoming drama romance, My Policeman. He stars in the movie alongside Emma Corrin, Rupert Everett, Gina McKee and David Dawson.

The film tells a story of forbidden love and changing social conventions that follows three young people – policeman Tom (Styles), teacher Marion (Corrin), and museum curator Patrick (David Dawson) – as they embark on an emotional journey in 1950s Britain. Flashing forward to the 1990s, Tom (Linus Roache), Marion (Gina McKee), and Patrick (Rupert Everett) are still reeling with longing and regret, but now they have one last chance to repair the damage of the past.

Michael Grandage directed the movie, which is based on the 2012 novel of the same name. My Policeman is expected to hit theaters on October 21. It will then be released on Amazon Prime Video on November 4.

You can check out the first images from the flick below…

Check Out The First-Look Photo Of Margot Robbie In Upcoming ‘Barbie’ Film

People are really jazzed about the upcoming live-action ‘Barbie‘ film from ‘Lady Bird’ director Greta Gerwig. The movie now has an official release date of July 21, 2023, so they’re hoping it’s a summer blockbuster.

The release date, and the first-look photo were released at CinemaCon this week, to get theater owners excited about the project.

Barbie stars Margot Robbie as the titular character. She’ll be joined by Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera and Will Ferrell. So, you know, just some random cast of actors. No big deal or anything.

Greta co-wrote the script with her longtime partner Noah Baumbach, so there is a lot of talent circling this film which is one of the reasons people are so excited about it.

The July 21, 2023 release date is an interesting one as it’s set to be competing against Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, Oppenheimer, which also features a star-studded cast, including Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, Rami Malek, Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh.

It’s going to be very fun to watch them battle it out at the theaters.

In the meantime, we’ll be desperately waiting for their trailers to be released, most likely later this year, or early next year.

Yes, They Made A Movie About Those Pop-Up ‘Spirit Halloween’ Stores

You know when September comes around and you notice that the old Best Buy across town has turned into a Spirit Halloween store basically overnight? That’s when you know Halloween is near.

The Spirit Halloween pop-up stores have become a meme on the internet, and now they’re getting the movie treatment.

The iconic costume/prop store, which boasts nearly 1,500 locations across the country, has teamed up with an independent film studio to create a feature-length family movie titled Spirit Halloween.

According to the reports, this movie has already been filmed, and it stars Christopher Lloyd and Rachel Leigh Cook.

When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle-school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.

As mentioned above, filming has wrapped, so they’re currently in post-production, with a planned release date this October.

Honestly, I’m excited. It’ll probably be super corny, but still… IT’S SPIRIT HALLOWEEN! AND CHRISTOPHER LLOYD! How can you not be at least a little excited?

Check Out The First Image Of Zac Efron In Upcoming Dramedy ‘The Greatest Beer Run Ever’

Zac Efron must like starring in movies that start with ‘The Greatest’ because five years after starring in ‘The Greatest Showman‘ the 34-year-old actor is now starring in a movie titled, The Greatest Beer Run Ever.

The movie, which was directed/co-written by Peter Farrelly, stars Efron as John ‘Chickie’ Donahue, a man on a mission to share a few beers with his childhood buddies, who are now fighting in Vietnam.

It’s actually based on a true story…

[The film follows the] 1967 adventure of John Donahue who, after seeing an anti-war protest on TV, decided that the soldiers in Vietnam were being mistreated by the public and set out to give them his own small, but intensely personal show of appreciation.

In addition to Efron, this movie also stars Russell Crowe and Kyle Allen. As some of you remember, Farrelly’s last film, Green Book, was also based on a true story. Much to everyone’s chagrin, the movie ended up winning best picture at the 91st Academy Awards.

Skydance Media is producing The Greatest Beer Run Ever for Apple TV+. No release date has been announced, but we’re sure one will be coming soon.

Check Out The First Footage From Jordan Peele’s Upcoming Film ‘Nope’

After the success of ‘Get Out’ and ‘Us’ Jordan Peele is back with another horror/thriller, although this one might also mix a bit of sci-fi as well.

‘Nope’ is expected to hit theaters on July 22, 2022, and to celebrate the upcoming release, Universal Pictures plans to drop the first trailer on Super Bowl Sunday.

But before we get there, they teased us with the first look you see below. In the clip, near the end, you can see the first images from the film, featuring Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun. They all appear to be looking at something above them in the sky.

Which makes sense, because this is the poster…

This is why we speculate that there might be a sci-fi element to this. Plot details are still not known, and honestly, the trailer probably won’t tell us much. Peele loves to keep his movies a surprise.

Nope is also notable for teaming Peele and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, who has become Christoper Nolan’s go-to director of photography in recent years after shooting ‘Interstellar,’ ‘Dunkirk’ and ‘Tenet.’ Hoytema will also be shooting Nolan’s next directorial effort, the atom bomb drama ‘Oppenheimer.’

Peele is bringing out the big guns for this one, and we can’t wait to check it out. JULY 22, GET YO’ POPCORN READY!

A24 Slasher Flick ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ Shares First-Look Image Ahead Of SXSW Premiere

The SXSW Film Festival is set to take place next month in Austin after being canceled last year due to COVID-19.

And to make up for lost time, the festival will feature ninety-nine features, seventy-six of those being world premieres. One of those premieres being the upcoming A24 slasher film, Bodies Bodies Bodies.

A first-look image was released this week, promoting the film, which promises to be a very entertaining ride.

When a group of rich 20-somethings plan a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game turns deadly in this fresh and funny look at backstabbing, fake friends, and one party gone very, very wrong.

The cast includes Amandla Stenberg, Pete Davidson, Lee Pace, and Maria Bakalova.

Halina Reijn directed the flick, which was written by several writers, including Kristen Roupenian, Sarah Delappe, Chloe Okuno, Joshua Sharp and Aaron Jackson. Typically, when a film has so many writers on it, that’s bad news for the script, but there’s a lot of hype surrounding this movie, so we’ll refrain from judging it too harshly.

No release date has been announced, but we’re sure once it premieres at the festival next month, a release date will soon follow, depending on the early reactions.

Check Out The First Images Of Nicolas Cage Playing Himself In Upcoming Comedy ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’

Nicolas Cage is an interesting dude. He’s a legitimately talented actor, giving award-deserving performances in movies like Pig, Mandy, Leaving Las Vegas and Adaptation.

But he’s also not afraid to make fun of himself with absolutely insane performances. His freak outs and bizarre screams have become almost bigger than the man himself.

And the legend will only continue to grow with the upcoming comedy/thriller, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. In the movie, Cage plays an extended version of himself. He’s down on his luck. His acting career is almost nonexistent and his daughter hates him. He decides he’s going to quit acting, but before he does, he takes one last job to land a huge paycheck.

He agrees to make an appearance at a billionaire super fan’s birthday party, played by the always lovely Pedro Pascal. Of course, things don’t go as planned and Cage ends up being an informant for the FBI, in an attempt to take down the billionaire fan who just so happens to be a drug kingpin.

It promises to be a wild ride. The first images were released this week, featuring Cage in all his Cage-like glory.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent also stars Tiffany Haddish, Neil Patrick Harris, and Sharon Horgan. It’s expected to hit theaters in April of 2022. A teaser trailer is expected to drop this week. We’ll update this post with it.

Check Out The First Images For Hulu Comedy Film ‘Sex Appeal’ Starring Margaret Cho And Paris Jackson

Hulu’s upcoming teen comedy film ‘Sex Appeal‘ has just released the first images from filming, and they feature Margaret Cho and Mika Abdalla.

Abdalla stars in the film as Avery Hansen-White, a teenager in pursuit of sexual education after her long-distance boyfriend suggests they take things to a new level at the upcoming STEM conference, which they refer to as the nerd prom…because of course this chick is a nerd.

She’s dressed all professional like, you see! That means she’s totally a nerd!

Anyway, this movie also features performances from Paris Jackson, Fortune Feimster, and Rebecca Henderson. It was directed by Talia Osteen, in what looks to be her feature directorial debut.

American High’s Jeremy Garelick, Will Phelps, and Ryan Bennett are producing the pic with Mark Fasano and Tobias Weymar of Nickel City, and Kendrick Tan for Lit Entertainment.

Hulu is set to release the comedy film in early 2022.

Timothee Chalamet Shares First Look From His Upcoming Willy Wonka Prequel ‘Wonka’

Fans of the 1971 film ‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory‘ were already skeptical of this ‘Wonka‘ prequel starring Timothee Chalamet, and now after seeing the first image from the movie, they’re even more suspicious.

It feels like fans are worried they’re taking the fun and heart out of the original movie, which is a lot to get from a single image, but hey… that’s social media for you.

Chalamet, who plays the title character in the upcoming movie, shared the first image of his character.

As you can see, this version looks a bit darker and maybe even more Victorian. It’s a dramatic shift from this…

But as we mentioned above, it’s just one image. You can hardly judge a film by a single trailer, so you shouldn’t at all judge it by a single image.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, the Warner Bros. prequel will reportedly explore how Willy Wonka became an illustrious candymaker. The production is billed as a musical, with reps for Chalamet confirming that the actor will be singing and dancing in the film.

How dark can it really be if there is singing and dancing involved, you know? I have faith in this movie. I mean, Paul King is directing it! The director/writer behind the recent Paddington films. You’re gonna tell me you don’t trust him?

Don’t let the photo fool you! WONKA IS GOING TO BE GREAT! YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!
