Lars Von Triers Nymphomaniac Trailer Mistakenly Shown Before Disney’s Frozen! Oops!

hr_Nymphomaniac _Part_One_23Imagine that.  You settle down with your little one ready to take in the delight of Disney’s latest spectacular film.  You hold your little daughters food tray, while she wiggles out of her little winter jacket in the seat next to you.  You look down at the little movie kids meal, complete with mini popcorn, and Frozen themed slushy drink.  When she is all done you put a little napkin down on her lap, open the straw and put it in her drink for her, marveling at her innocence.

The previews begin and with that you get that excited energy you get only from going to the theaters.  Then without warning you are shown a Von Trier NC-17 trailer complete with graphic sex, oral sex, naked spanking and a sex starved Uma Thurman talking about whoring in bed.

That is exactly what happened at a Regals Cinema in Pinellas Park, Florida.  After experiencing some delays and technical issues, a mini short of Mickey Mouse’s Steamboat Willie cartoon came on and then lead right into the trailer for Nympho.  Not only a movie with sex, but a movie that is advertised as the most sexually explicit film ever.  The trailer at less than two minutes long, but that seemed like and eternity for parents who had to shield their kids from the graphic content,

One movie goer described his experience, [more…]

“It seemed like forever when you’re trying to, you know, cover a little guy’s eyes. . .I didn’t have enough hands to cover his ears too and he got the sound down real good.”

But fear not, Regal made everything just right.  For the price of stealing the innocence of our youth, each movie goer was given a free ticket.

Here is the trailer for Nympho.  Is it really that bad?  Yep!

Entourage Movie is Officially a Go……Again!

BXtKDotCUAA0P3X.jpg large

We just posted last week that there was a lot of controversy surrounding the Entourage project.  Walhlberg was caught at LAX by TMZ and jokingly said that the project would get underway as soon as “those guys stop being greedy”.  Well it appears that that day has happened.

Today on his twitter account, the series creator and the man behind the coveted screenplay sent out the tweet that we have all been waiting years for.  Along with the picture of the cast Ellin says that, “It’s a Go”.  And not a minute too soon; the last time we so the fellas it was 2011 for crying out loud. [more…]

The entire cast has inked a deal and as Ellis says, “It’s a go”.  According to Deadline it took the headliners getting a piece of the back end in order to officially close negotiations.

With a budget of $30 Million from Warner Bros, filming of the project is scheduled to start this January.

Is Greed Holding up the Entourage Movie?

Entourage-e1379302869934

The off screen drama started when TMZ posted a video of Mark Wahlberg in LAX being followed by the paparazzi. In a very un-Kanye-like manner Wahlberg continues to answer a litany of questions until he is hit with the one that matters,

“When are we going to see the Entourage Movie.”

His answer, is one that no one was expecting to hear,

“AS SOON AS THEM GUYS STOP BEING GREEDY”

Wahlberg didn’t elaborate but that was enough for the public to go wild. Wild enough that Adrien Grenier took to instagram to provide his view point on the subject. He posted a picture stating,

“To all Entourage fans. I owe it to you to make a couple things clear. I take my role as Vince on the show & off very seriously. All decisions I make personally & for business are for the principle of friendship and brotherhood. It has, & never will be about the money for me. I promise. I will always stand up for the boys (that includes you) & do what I can to make sure they are treated fairly, and not be taken advantage of by anybody. The spirit of Entourage is about sharing the opportunities given to us and I will sign any deal that gives ALL the boys an opportunity to share in the upside of success EQUALLY. I assure you, despite the perception, there is no greed in my heart. Remember, it will all work out in the end. It always does. —— I will try to answer questions with hashtag #entourageboysshare”

And just in case you thought it was Turtle holding out….Jerry Ferrara says, it’s not him. He says he would do the film for free!!

Rumor has it that Piven and Connelly have inked their deals leaving Ferrara, Grenier and Dillon.
I say with all the crap hitting the big screen, pay these guys whatever they want and get the movie filmed before we all forget who Vincent Chase is. It will be worth it.

Charlie Hunnam Back out of ’50 Shades’

hunnam

Many women will be disappointed but others will now be hopeful, as the great casting search begins again.  Charlie Hunnam has officially backed out of, what many would have thought would be the role of a lifetime.  Hunnam announced that he will not be taking on the role as the billionaire Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Universal Pictures released the statement explaining that the filming of Hunnam’s TV show, “Son’s of Anarchy” was causing scheduling issues.  The statement read,

“The filmmakers of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey”

Matthew Belloni, executive editor at The Hollywood Reporter, seems to think that Charlie Hunnam got cold feet.  After the announcement he sent out this tweet:

“Sons fo Anarchy” is wrapping up its sixth season on Oct 21, and 50 Shades is scheduled to start in early November.

I think it was a wise move for Hunnam as roles like this typically kill more careers then make them. [more…]

The movie is still set to be released on August 2014 which means that a new male lead will be secured in the next week.  For fans who were desperately against Charlie Hunnam, so much so that a petition was created with 86,000 signatures, they inadvertently got exactly what they wanted. A recasting.  However I think whomever is chosen will come with controversy and a lot of pressure.  For movie buffs like us, it’s all exciting.

‘Ted 2’ Will Release in the Summer of Sequels: June 2015!

ted-2

With Mark Wahlberg involved in Transformers and a few other big projects, I knew it would be a  little while before we saw another Ted movie but I didn’t think it would be 2 years.

This puts the summer of 2015 poised to be one of the biggest most talked about summers since 2012.  The good news is Universal and Media Rights Capital have the date locked and loaded and we won’t have to wait 20 years (Dumb and Dumber To) for the next installment.  Even though it will be competing against other high profile sequels like “The Avengers”, “Terminator” and “Batman vs  Superman”, there is nothing like Ted.

Ted has a niche all by itself which in today’s market is hard to do.  Seth MacFarlane has stumbled onto a recipe that created a genre of film where there is little competition as could be attested by the $540 million that the movie brought in worldwide.  With an unlimited amount of plot possibilities for Seth MacFarlane to take, this sequel has the possibility of being just as good as the first.

Scorsese’s ‘The Wolf of Wallstreet’ Possible Release Date Push.

wolf-of-wall-street-trailer-06172013-014649

If you are like me, you can’t wait for Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street however, we might have no choice.  There are rumored to be two big issues: 1. The movie is three hours long and 2. Contents of the movie currently as is, gives it an NC-17 rating.

If you have read the book based on the life of Wall Street Mogul Jordan Belfort then you can easily see how an NC-17 rating could apply.

For Paramount this is familiar territory as they had a similar issue and with Scorsese back in 2009 when “Shutter Island” got pushed to 2010.  Ultimately this was a win for the studio which gave them $130 million as it entered and smashed a non-competitive 1st quarter.

There is buzz that The Wolf of Wall Street can possibly be in the running for Best Picture.  Because “Nebraska” is also slotted for November chances are that “Wolf” will get pushed but only to December.  Not to mention all of the ad dollars lined up for its launch. [more…]

Insiders say that the current cut for the film is indeed 180 minutes long and won’t even be ready for the New York film Festival.

For now, I would count on Jack Ryan’s Christmas release to get pushed to MLK 2014 and Wolf to take the Christmas time slot, positioning it for an Oscar run.  Directed by Scorsese, leading by Dicaprio, Screenplay by  Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire) and a supporting cast that includes Jonah Hill, Rob Reiner and Matthew McConaughey, best picture is not out of the question.  Not to mention it’s one of my all-time favorite books, so hopefully they don’t screw it up.

Just in case you missed it, here’s the Trailer.  McConaughey could get supporting actor, he’s nothing but brilliant in the trailer.
