Robert Downey Jr. Joins ‘Captain America 3’ Find Out How Much The Deal Is Worth Inside!

We are sure you all have heard the exciting news. It was announced yesterday that Robert Downey Jr. is currently in final negotiations to appear as Tony Stark in the third installment of Marvel’s Captain America franchise. The third film will follow the Civil War storyline from the Marvel comics.

This means we will see Iron Man and Captain America face off in the upcoming film. The government passes a superhero registration act, which orders anyone with special powers to reveal themselves to the U.S. government. Iron Man is fine with the new program, but Captain America sees it as a threat to civil liberties.

It’s certainly an exciting time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for fans, and an even more exciting time for Robert Downey Jr. If/when the deal is finalized, Downey will reportedly earn another $40 million paycheck. He will also get an additional payout if Captain America 3 earns more than Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is extremely likely considering the excitement surrounding this film.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo will direct the film, which is scheduled to be released on May 6, 2016. In order to outperform the previous Captain America movie, Captain America 3 will need to bring in more than $714 million worldwide.

Doctor Strange: Joaquin Phoenix Out, Keanu Reeves In? Get The Details Inside

For months it looked like Joaquin Phoenix would land the title role for Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange movie. And for the most part, fans of the superhero were happy with the choice; however, things changed a little over a week ago.

Talks between Phoenix and Marvel broke down completely. We’re still not sure what happened, but the decision does appear to be final. Joaquin Phoenix will not take the lead role in Doctor Strange.

So who will Marvel go after now? No one knows for sure, but there has been a lot of support lately for Keanu Reeves. He’s obviously comfortable with action movies, and he has worked with director Scott Derrickson before on the set of The Day the Earth Stood Still. The support for Reeves certainly makes sense.

But would the actor even be interested in the role? Well, he was asked that very question while promoting his new film, John Wick.

“From a practical standpoint the idea of a longtime contract is sort of “errr” because you want to make sure the material is up to a certain level.  Like the good or great level.  I like the idea.  I go to those kinds of movies.  I grew up on them and comics and graphic novels.  [But] I didn’t know Doctor Strange as a character, I didn’t read that as a kid.  I’m gonna have to read it. I remember reading something… who’s going to play Doctor Strange? Would I be good for the role?”

He was asked this question by multiple reporters and his answer was pretty much the same every time. He’s interested, but he’s not a fan of long-term contracts and he’s not familiar with the character.

Doesn’t sound very promising. I’m not sure who will end up getting the role, but I wouldn’t jump on the Keanu Reeves bandwagon just yet.

Director Paul Feig Confirms ‘Ghostbusters 3’ Says It Will Be A “Restart” Featuring Hilarious Women

It looks like the rumors were finally right! The Heat and Bridesmaids director Paul Feig confirmed that he is making a new Ghostbusters movie on his Twitter account. He also confirmed it will star “hilarious women” and he revealed The Heat screenwriter Katie Dippold will help him write the script.

It’s honestly still hard to believe this is actually happening. They have been trying to make a Ghostbusters 3 for years now. There were even several ideas in place for the third movie, including one with a younger cast taking over from the original, older cast. Thankfully, that idea never really went anywhere.

After announcing the news on Twitter, Feig talked with EW and provided some more details on his “scary” new project. He says he will be rebooting the franchise. It won’t be a ‘Ghostbusters 3‘ it will hopefully be the start of a new Ghostbusters.

“I had lunch with [Sony Pictures co-chairman] Amy Pascal when I got back to town. She was just saying, gosh, nobody wants to do [‘Ghostbusters 3’] I said, yeah, it’s really hard to take that on, especially since it’s 25 years later. How do you come back into a world that’s had these ghosts and all this? It just felt too difficult. How do you do it and not screw it up? But then it was bugging me for the next few days because ‘Ghostbustersis such a great thing and everybody knows it, and it’s such a great world. It’s a shame to just let this thing sit there. I want to see another one. My favorite thing to do is work with funny women. I was like, what if it was an all-female cast? If they were all women?”

He then went deeper into this new world, offering more details on this exciting reboot.

“I love origin stories. That’s my favorite thing. I love the first one so much I don’t want to do anything to ruin the memory of that. So it just felt like, let’s just restart it because then we can have new dynamics. I want the technology to be even cooler. I want it to be really scary, and I want it to happen in our world today that hasn’t gone through it so it’s like, oh my God what’s going on?”

Well, it certainly sounds interesting. It sounds better than any Ghostbusters reboot before. Of course, we still don’t know who the female stars of the film will be, but there is a decent chance Melissa McCarthy will be one of them. She already has Bill Murray’s approval, and she has a long history with Feig.

Hopefully they give Amy Poehler a call. She is one of the best in the business. It would be a shame if they passed her up.

First Images From ‘The Gambler’ Show Mark Wahlberg’s Dramatic 60-Pound Weight Loss

We are sure some of you have been hearing about Mark Wahlberg’s extreme weight loss for his upcoming film, The Gambler. He was forced to drop 60 pounds for the role, which some believe could land him an Oscar.

USA Today released three brand new images from the movie, and you can definitely see a difference, especially when you look back at how huge he was for the latest Transformers disaster.

In the film, Mark will play a literary professor with an intense gambling problem, which leads to him getting into trouble with gangsters. It’s described as an updated retelling of the 1974 drama of the same name. In the photo down below, you can see Wahlberg standing next to Brie Larson. She plays Amy in the film, and is the main reason I am so excited for the movie.

But let’s get back to Mark’s weight loss before I start declaring my love for Brie Larson. Mr. Wahlberg told USA Today that the greatest challenge wasn’t losing the weight. It was transforming himself into a believable teacher.

“Forget losing the weight. Being believable as a teacher was one of my greatest challenges and most rewarding. It meant being able to have the comfort to really understand and say those words. Comments we’ve been getting from the test screenings include, ‘I never thought I would see Mark Wahlberg as a professor, but I believed it and went along for the ride.’ Hearing that hit on one of my big reasons for doing this part. It’s different and unexpected.”

Sounds like it’s going to be an interesting ride. The Gambler will be released Dec. 19. The film is directed by Rupert Wyatt and written by William Monahan.

Lock Your Doors, ‘The Purge 3’ Is In Development With James DeMonaco

Why does Hollywood love making sequels/prequels? Because the majority of people love watching them. This means there is a decent chance the movie will make a ridiculous amount of money. If no one cared about sequels, Hollywood would stop shoving them down our throats, because they would no longer be profitable.

But sadly, that’s never going to happen, which is why writer/director James DeMonaco is teaming up with Universal Pictures for a third installment to The Purge franchise. Due to the success of the first two films, development has now started on the third film. It makes sense, considering the first two films had a combined budget of $12 million, and together have brought in over $200 million worldwide.

As we mentioned, DeMonaco will be back. He was the writer and director behind the first two films. It will be interesting to see where he takes the franchise now. The first film followed a single family inside their house, and then we saw The Purge world open up in the second film, which followed multiple groups of people and gave us a better idea of what the Purge is all about.

There are rumors floating around that DeMonaco wants the third film to be a prequel. Jason Blum, the producer behind the movies, reportedly said the film might focus on the Revolutionaries and the very first purge.

We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available. Be safe out there, folks.

Ben Affleck Assures Batman Fans That ‘Batman v Superman’ Will Be Better Than ‘Daredevil’

When it was announced Ben Affleck signed on to play Batman in Zack Snyder’s upcoming film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it’s safe to say most Batman fans were horrified. The rage taking over the internet was incredible. People were saying and doing all sorts of crazy things.

The people who were disgusted by this news cited Affleck’s performance in the terrible Daredevil movie as proof he can’t handle playing a superhero. But Ben Affleck wants you all to know that Daredevil can’t even compete with Batman v Superman. During an interview with NPR, the 42-year-old actor said the following…

“Indeed I have regrets about ‘Daredevil.’ I have regrets about all the movies that I don’t think were executed properly. Look, if I thought we were remaking ‘Daredevil,’ I’d be out there picketing myself … and that goes for other movies as well that I haven’t been happy with. You know, I’m hard on myself and I have exacting standards and I want to do excellent work and I don’t always succeed, but I think you have to start out with that drive.”

He also talked a little bit about the magnificent director behind the film, Zack Snyder, “It’s directed by Zack Snyder, who’s a incredibly magical sort of visual stylist who’s steeped in the comic world.” He explained.

You see, folks? Everything is going to be okay. Stop shoving electronic devices up your butt. Batman v Superman will be incredible.

Pixar Releases First Teaser Trailer For ‘Inside Out’ Watch It Here!

This has been a good week for movie fans. Gone Girl opens today, the first Inherent Vice trailer was released earlier this week, and now we get the first teaser trailer for Pixar’s Inside Out.

The film, which was directed by Pete Docter, follows all the emotions inside the head of an 11-year-old girl named Riley. The emotions inside her become characters in the film, and the list of stars they signed to voice the characters is pretty impressive.

Joy: Amy Poehler

Disgust: Mindy Kaling

Fear: Bill Hader

Sadness: Phyllis Smith

Anger: Lewis Black

Pixar had this to say about the highly anticipated film…

“The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.”

The trailer you see down below starts off with a montage of Pixar films. The clips highlight all the emotions Pixar has made you feel throughout the years. And then we are flown right into Riley’s dining room, as well as what’s going on inside her head.

Inside Out will be at a theater near you June 19, 2015.

Adam Sandler Has Signed An Exclusive 4-Movie Deal With Netflix

Are you still a fan of Adam Sandler? If so, then we have some news you might want to hear. The 48-year-old entertainer has signed a four-movie deal with Netflix. All four films will dodge theaters and will only be made available on Netflix. Adam Sandler will produce the films under his Happy Madison productions.

““People love Adam’’s films on Netflix and often watch them again and again.” Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. “His appeal spans across viewers of all ages — everybody has a favorite movie, everyone has a favorite line — not just in the U.S. but all over the world.” He added.

And while that is true, we have to wonder if this deal is coming a little too late. Are we ready to forgive Adam Sandler for Jack and Jill, That’s My Boy, Grown Ups 2, and Blended? He hasn’t exactly been doing well at the box office lately, but maybe this switch to Netflix is exactly what he needs.

He’s already making jokes about the deal…

““When these fine people came to me with an offer to make four movies for them, I immediately said ‘yes’ for one reason and one reason only…: Netflix rhymes with ‘wet chicks.’ Let the streaming begin!!!!””

According to Variety, the first film could start streaming as soon as next year.

Just Like “The Twinkie” Zombieland 2 Might Be Coming Back From The Dead!

It looks like ‘Zombieland 2‘ will actually happen after all. It’s been almost exactly five years since the original film was released. The film scored a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed $100 million worldwide. It’s safe to say it was a huge success, and we all know how much Hollywood loves to squeeze every last dime out of a good thing.

It’s honestly shocking that there hasn’t been a Zombieland 2. We know Sony Pictures wanted to make a sequel and we know Woody Harrelson was on board, but they just weren’t able to come up with a decent script. After two years of not hearing anything more about a possible sequel, it now looks like Zombieland 2 has some new life.

Deadline reports that Sony has hired Dave Callaham to write a new script for the sequel. He will be under the supervision of Ruben Fleischer, who will return to direct the film. We should note that a deal has not been made, but sources say Sony really wants to make this happen.

What about the cast? Will they return? It seems unlikely that the entire cast will return. They have all been extremely successful since the original film came out five years ago. Emma Stone is one of the most popular actresses in the business, Woody Harrelson is Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg is playing Lex Luthor in Batman v. Superman and Abigail Breslin is actually playing a zombie in the upcoming film, Maggie.

We will just have to wait and see. As always, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
