Bruno Mars kept a low profile in 2019 after an incredible 2017 and 2018, which led to him winning several Grammys during the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
His world tour for his ’24k Magic’ album came to an end in November of 2018. In total, the tour grossed over $360 million, which is among the highest-grossing concert tours of all time.
So yeah, the dude deserved a break in 2019. But now, after a year off to recharge his batteries, Mars is planning a big comeback.
According to a new report, Mars will star in and produce a “music-themed film” that will be developed by Disney. It’ll feature mostly original music that he will write and perform.
Details are scant, but Mars’ big-screen experience includes an appearance in ‘Honeymoon in Vegas,’ was a featured voice in ‘Rio 2’ and hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’ — and in 2014 he rocked music’s toughest stage, the Super Bowl halftime show where many have fallen, so he knows how to hold a camera’s attention.
I have all the faith in the world in him. The dude is incredibly talented, and he sorta has a “Disney” vibe about him. He certainly knows how to write catchy songs, which is half the battle. ‘Frozen‘ was powered by the success of ‘Let It Go‘ for a solid year.
