We told you that ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ would probably break every box office record out there, and it’s doing it.
The latest record shattered? Fastest movie to cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office. Infinity War crossed the impressive mark in 11 days, which was just barely enough to beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ 12 days back in 2015.
To make this situation even more incredible, the film has still NOT opened in China. It doesn’t open in China until May 11, so you can expect the worldwide box office total to jump up a lot following this weekend.
There really is no stopping this movie or Disney as a whole.
“The film’s continued success reinforces the dominance of both Disney and Marvel studios in Hollywood. Disney just crossed $3 billion for 2018, breaking its own record for the shortest time to reach that landmark in a given year. And Marvel has another potential blockbuster, ‘Deadpool 2,’ with Ryan Reynolds, arriving May 18.”
It’s a little scary to know one studio holds so much power in Hollywood, but what are you gonna do? They’re making quality films.
