The Trailer For ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Has Arrived, And Everyone Is Freaking Out Over It! (VIDEO)

When ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service‘ was released back in early 2015, it kinda surprised everyone. It wasn’t expected to be a huge hit, but for some reason the audience really connected with it.

It grossed over $414 million worldwide, which made the director Matthew Vaughn extremely happy. It was his most commercially successful film ever. Even the critics enjoyed the spy-action comedy. It currently sits at a comfortable 74% on Rotten Tomatoes.

And with all that success (especially the delicious $414 million total) you had to know there was going to be a sequel.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle released its first trailer this week, and it was definitely worth the wait. It’s hard to make a great trailer, but the studio nailed it with this one.

Both Taron Egerton and (surprisingly) Colin Firth have returned for this sequel. They are joined by Channing Tatum, Julianne Moore and Halle Berry.

You can check out the official synopsis and trailer below. It’s scheduled to hit theaters September 22, 2017.

“With their headquarters destroyed and the world held hostage, members of Kingsman find new allies when they discover a spy organization in the United States known as Statesman. In an adventure that tests their strength and wits, the elite secret agents from both sides of the pond band together to battle a ruthless enemy and save the day, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy.”

Find Out What The Critics Are Saying About ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ You Might Be Surprised…

The reviews are coming in for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2‘ and on the surface it all looks good for the sequel. Most of the reviews are considered “positive,” and it sits at a comfortable 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

But if you dig a little deeper, you’ll see that almost all critics agree the original film was better. Some reviews claim the sequel has lost the bit of charm that made the first movie so special. And while the sequel is entertaining, it doesn’t offer anything new to the franchise.

Entertainment Weekly’s Chris Nashawaty wrote the following…

“Is it possible to be disappointed by a film and still manage to have a good time watching it? Absolutely. And Guardians Vol. 2 is Exhibit A of that. It’s smarter than most films, but not as smart as the first one. It’s funnier than most films, but not as funny as the first one. And it still probably belongs in the upper tier of Marvel movies, but nowhere near as high up as the first one. Guardians Vol. 1 was so original and unpredictable and irreverent and silly and sublime that Guardians Vol. 2 can’t help but feel like a step backwards.”

And we could show you more reviews, but most critics agree with Chris, he just did the best at explaining the feeling. The good news is that all critics say the film is entertaining, and the ending is reportedly incredible.

Birth.Movies.Death’s Dave Schilling wrote that the film’s final battle is a “world-shattering finale that ranks with the best climaxes in Marvel’s oeuvre.”

It will hit a theater near you May 5, 2017.

The Sisters Of Heath Ledger Deny Rumors Claiming The Role Of The Joker In ‘The Dark Knight’ Killed Their Brother

Ever since Heath Ledger’s death in 2008, people have been spreading this rumor claiming it was his Oscar-winning role as the Joker that pushed him over the edge. The rumors claim the role put too much stress on him, which led to him overdosing on drugs.

There are even some people who claim Ledger basically became the Joker, even in his real life, and it was hard for him to come back to reality after filming ended.

But Ledger’s sisters, Kate and Ashleigh, claim those rumors are not true. They attended a screening of I Am Heath Ledger (the new documentary about the late actor) and talked to Entertainment Weekly about their brother.

They called the speculation “so not true,” and added that their brother was not depressed about his role. They said it was actually the opposite, “[Ledger] had an amazing sense of humor, and I guess maybe only his close family and friends really knew that, but he was having fun.”

His friends and family agree with Kate and Ashleigh. Ledger obviously had some problems, but they were not related to his role as the Joker.

I Am Heath Ledger will premiere on Spike TV May 17. If you miss it then, it’ll be released on DVD/Blu-ray just one week later on May 23.

David Hasselhoff Has A Song On The Soundtrack For Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, And It’s Actually Not That Bad (LISTEN)

There is not a lot of exciting movie news to report today, so we’re reaching deep with this one. The soundtrack (Awesome Mix Vol. 2) to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was released earlier this week, and as expected…it’s filled with some great tunes.

You’ll remember just how great the soundtrack for the first film was. It reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, and as of January 2015, it sold over 1,000,000 copies, and went certified Platinum.

This new soundtrack for the second film in the franchise will likely have similar success. It features songs from Fleetwood Mac, George Harrison, Sam Cooke, Cat Stevens, and uh…David Hasselhoff.

That’s right. The Baywatch star has his own song on the track, and you can listen to it in the video below.

Hasselhoff rapping in a song performed by a fictional band full of aliens? Sure. It’s 2017. Anything can (and probably will) happen.

By the way, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters May 5, 2017.

Get Ready, Folks! John Witherspoon Says Ice Cube Is Making New ‘Friday’ Movie! (VIDEO)

It’s fitting this news comes out on a Friday. John Witherspoon, the actor who played Ice Cube’s father in the Friday franchise, recently revealed that Ice Cube is making a new Friday film.

The 75-year-old dropped the shocking news following an interview with Power 95.3. You can check out the video above, and read his quote below…

“Cube said they’re going to do another Friday. He said he wanted to meet with me this week, but he couldn’t make it, but we’re going to meet next week and get things together.”

It’s been 15 years since Friday After Next was released, and 22 years since the original Friday film was released. You’ll remember a while back there was a report claiming Ice Cube was planning on making another film in the series, and it was going to be titled Last Friday.

This announcement from Witherspoon seems to confirm that report. We don’t know if they’re still working with that same title, but that’s not important.

What is important is that Cube is bringing back Friday, and we’re going to celebrate this news by enjoying the f**k out of what’s left of this beautiful Friday afternoon.

HBO Is Adapting Dystopian Classic ‘Fahrenheit 451,’ Michael B. Jordan And Michael Shannon Set To Star

The HBO Films adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s classic novel Fahrenheit 451 has been in development for a while now. The dystopian novel, which was released in 1953, “depicts a future where media is an opiate, history is outlawed and ‘firemen’ burn books.”

Doesn’t sound too far off, huh?

This week, the studio announced that Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon will star in the movie. Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes) will direct the project. He also co-wrote the script with Amir Naderi.

There is a lot of talent behind this film. Both Jordan and Shannon are coming off great performances. You had Jordan’s breakout role in Creed, and then most recently you had Shannon give one heck of a performance in Nocturnal Animals. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2017 Oscars.

We will keep you updated on this project as more information is released. No word yet on a release date, but it’ll probably be in 2018/19. Jordan is currently busy filming Marvel’s Black Panther.

Will Smith Is In Talks To Join ‘Aladdin’ Reboot, Find Out Which Role He’ll Be Taking On!

According to multiple reports, Will Smith is in talks to voice the Genie in Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin, which is being directed by the talented Guy Ritchie.

Most of you will remember that the late (and great!) Robin Williams voiced the role in the original 1992 classic. The move would make sense for Smith. He’s been wanting to land a family-friendly film for a while now after his recent string of adult dramas and big action films.

He was circling one of the lead roles in ‘Dumbo,‘ but he walked away because of scheduling conflicts.

If he gets the role, Smith will probably be the biggest name in the movie. The studio plans to cast newcomers as Jasmine and Aladdin.

We have high hopes for this movie. As mentioned above, Guy Ritchie will be directing it, and the wonderful John August wrote the script for it. August is the screenwriter behind Big Fish and Frankenweenie. He also co-hosts the Scriptnotes podcast with fellow screenwriter Craig Mazin.

We’ll see if this updated version of Aladdin can match the success of the 1992 film. It was the highest-grossing film of the year in 1992, and won two Academy Awards.

Chris Pratt Claims He Was Surprised By The Negative Reviews For ‘Passengers’

May is going to be a really good month for Chris Pratt. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to be released May 5, and you can bet it’s going to grab the top spot at the box office.

But we’re not here to talk about Guardians of the Galaxy. Instead, we’re going to focus on Passengers, the movie he co-starred in with Jennifer Lawrence.

Everyone thought it was going to be a huge hit. I mean, how could it not with Pratt and Lawrence starring in it? And while it made over $300 million at the worldwide box office, it did not perform well with the critics. In fact, Paul Blart: Mall Cop has a better rating on Rotten Tomatoes than Passengers.

So how does Pratt feel about this? Well, he recently admitted that he was surprised to see how the critics reacted to the film…

“I was really caught off guard by that. It was definitely a lesson. I personally think the movie is very good, I’m very proud of it. I’ll be curious to see if it holds up — the criticism and the movie. I’m proud of how the movie turned out and it did just fine to make money back for the studio. I never want to be in a situation where I’m blaming critics for not liking a movie. So I’ll just stop talking. It is what it is and I’m proud of it.”

You can tell he was really holding back there. What he really wanted to say was…

SURPRISE: Keira Knightley Has Returned To The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Franchise, New Footage Reveals Her Return! (VIDEO)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6B7jIHIBaY

Well, damn. People have been trying to figure out for months if Keira Knightley would be coming back for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Many people believed she wouldn’t, even though her character’s son is returning.

But now we know she will be in this fifth installment, thanks to the Japanese-narrated trailer you see above. The trailer reveals several new shots of the movie, but the most compelling shot is the one featuring Knightley’s character staring at something off camera.

It’s an extremely quick shot, so don’t blink or you might miss her. Heck, just in case you did blink, we got a GIF of the clip for you below…

Hard to know what’s going on in this scene, but some people believe it might be a dream sequence. If we had to guess, we’d say her role in this film will be minor.

But who knows at this point. We didn’t even know she was going to be in the film until this trailer was released, so there could be more surprises waiting.

The film will hit a theater near you May 26, 2017. You don’t have long to wait!

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Will Reportedly Have Five Post-Credits Scenes

You will want to stay in your seat when the credits start to roll following Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. James Gunn, the director of the film, has confirmed there will be five post-credits scenes.

He was forced to confirm the news after multiple sites claimed there would be four post-credits scenes. We don’t know a lot about these scenes, but it’s reported two of the scenes will act as set-ups for future films, like the just announced Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 screened for critics last night at its premiere in Hollywood. As expected, it received mostly positive reactions. We won’t get any full reviews until April 24, though.

Collider did give a little more information on the post-credits scenes…

“We can tell you that three of the scenes are goofy, fun short little scenes, while one is a bit more substantial. Moreover, you’ll want to play close attention throughout the (very fun) credits, as you may be able to spot a few surprises.”

It’s always neat when directors leave little surprises for the true fans. Should be interesting to see how many people get the message and actually stay in the theater following the ending.
