The extremely popular 2014 video game series created by Scott Cawthon is getting a movie adaptation, and this really shouldn’t surprise anyone. The terrifying game, which features malfunctioning animatronic animal characters, has been a huge success online.
Just go on YouTube and you’ll see what we’re talking about. Heat Vision was the first to report the news, claiming the film will be produced by Roy Lee (The LEGO Movie) and Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions.
The project is currently out to writers, which means this film still has a long road to travel. But everyone is looking forward to going down the road together.
“We’re looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie.”
And even though video games adapted into movies are usually terrible, the creator of this game believes this one will be different.
“The story really lends itself to being a movie and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to.”
I am still not convinced, but I do think this has the chance to be successful. The game is already creepy enough on a small computer screen. Can you imagine watching it inside a theater?
